OUR STORY
The estate's story begins in 1988, when Jean-Paul Durand, father of the current manager, acquires his first hectare of vines. Passionate about wine and viticulture, he gradually develops his estate. In 2009, he founds Vignoble Durand and officially becomes a winemaker.
His wife, Françoise Peneau, naturally joins this family adventure and actively participates in the estate's growth. In 2017, Wilfried Durand joins his father on the estate, marking the beginning of a new generation.
In 2019, he takes over management and resolutely commits the vineyard to an ambitious environmental approach, achieved through HVE level 3 certification (High Environmental Value). Since 2024, part of the vineyard has been managed using organic farming methods.
Wilfried Durand
Wilfried Durand represents the new generation of Vignoble Durand, a family-owned wine estate in Saint Lumine de Clisson, in the heart of the Nantes vineyard. Combining traditional expertise with a modern vision of viticulture, he carries on the family legacy with passion.
After obtaining a vocational diploma in agricultural management, he joined the estate in 2017. Since then, he has been involved in every stage of production, from tending the vines to crafting the wines in the cellar.
At the heart of the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation, Wilfried is committed to showcasing the Melon de Bourgogne grape and revealing the full potential of the gneiss and granite soils. His meticulous work ensures optimal grape quality, while his careful winemaking, including Sur Lie aging, produces fresh, mineral-driven and elegant white wines.
Committed to an environmental approach certified HVE level 3, with part of the vineyard farmed organically since 2024, Wilfried contributes to the estate's reputation through authentic wines that reflect the Nantes terroir.
